Murray is a nationally accredited, registered and experienced Mediator and Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (FDRP). Murray’s use of his skills, knowledge and experience gives the parties the best chance of resolving their dispute with mutually beneficial outcomes.

With Murray you get more than just an accredited and experienced Mediator: He draws skills from being legally trained and from many years of being involved in most aspects of dispute resolution. The parties benefit from Murray being able to impart his knowledge as to the many pitfalls and disadvantages of having a dispute escalate to a Court or Tribunal Judgment where, generally, the parties lose the ability to control the outcome and will be mostly disappointed with the result, the significant costs and inconvenience.

Murray, with his knowledge and experience, will assist parties (whether self-represented or attending with legal representation) to identify and focus on the important aspects of their matter in dispute, if that’s what is called for. But, more importantly, he also has the ability to isolate and grapple with what’s really important to each party, empathise with their interests and needs, find shared goals and middle ground, and bring a perspective of realism, future focused results and practicality to the outcome.

As an FDRP, for parenting and family property disputes, Murray ensures that, where necessary, the parties’ safety, security and comfort are recognised, that their needs and interests are recognised and that outcomes are practical and, for parenting matters, child focused.

Professional background:  After completing a Law Degree with Honours in 1995, Murray went on to practice as a Solicitor, Solicitor Advocate and Barrister with initial accreditation in 2003 as a Mediator with the Institute of Arbitrators & Mediators Australia (IAMA – now the Resolution Institute), and approval as Mediator with the Victorian Bar, Supreme Court of Queensland and the Queensland Law Society.  Murray now holds NMAS Accreditation, Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner accreditation and registration with the Attorney-General’s Department (Commonwealth), a Professional registration with the Resolution Institute and is a recognised and approved Mediator of the Queensland Law Society.

Nicole has been in leadership and coaching roles for over 20 years in both the private and public sectors. With a strong background in conflict resolution, Nicole’s training has given her the skills, ability and experience to mediate disputes and to assist the parties to change the way they deal with their differences.

Nicole’s focus, as a FDRP, is to ensure children have a meaningful relationship with each parent, where appropriate, and to achieve this, Nicole offers a cost-effective service to allow separating families to access private mediation in a timely manner. Nicole knows that children benefit when their conflicting parents resolve their issues and work together as co-parents.

Nicole is also a Child Consultant, who values the benefit of Child-Inclusive mediation to realign co-parenting by focusing on the experiences and needs of the children. Nicole represents the “child’s voice” in mediation to help separating parents to improve their level of co-operation and shared decision making by operating in a child focus way.

Nicole found her passion of helping others through difficult times when working in the public sector where she assisted vulnerable people after life changing events such as leaving the family home due to separation or domestic violence. Nicole’s natural skill set and ability to build relationships with people from all backgrounds produces exceptional results for her clients.
